What Parents Should Teach Their Children Essay Things Parents Should Teach Their Children There are many things parents should teach their children, but I think the most important things children should be taught are how to forgive, how to respect themselves and others, and how to be a good citizen to society. The most important thing parents should teach their children is how to forgive. Children today grow up hating people that hurt them because they don’t know how to forgive. Forgiving the people that hurt them will set their soul free and allow them to forget about everything and help them move on. They will not hold any grudges because they will know the right thing to do. The next important thing parents should teach their children is how to respect themselves and others. Children who have respect for themselves grow up and respect everyone else no matter who they are or what they do. For example, I had never respected anyone that did drugs because they didn’t respect me. I started respecting them once my mom talked to me and told me I couldn’t control what they do or how they do it. So I said to myself, â€Å"Who am I to judge them anyway? † God is the only person that can judge them. I have to most highly respect for everyone now. The least important thing parents should teach their children is how to be a good citizen to society.
